NGEREBONG
A unique religious tradition or ritual hundreds of years old held at Pura Agung Petilan, Village Kesiman, Denpasar, Bali. In a ceremony called ngerebong this, dozens of residents experiencing kerauhan or mass trance.

Dozens of residents who possessed then held by family members or colleagues. Together with thousands of other residents and their surrounding buildings Wantilan Temple three times counter-clockwise.

Ngerebong is a form of gratitude to Ida Sang Hyang Widhi or the One God as well as neutralize the evil spirits or forces so as not to interfere with humanity. Through this ceremony the villagers believe will be assigned a safety to avoid outbreaks and disasters.
